2025 Regional compliance milestones

Docusign expanded its global footprint throughout 2025, launching tailored identity verification solutions across key markets while addressing region-specific regulatory requirements.

Germany: NFC eID & BaFin GwG

Our expanded partnership with IDnow enables automated Near Field Communication (NFC) based identity verification using German eID, supporting BaFin and Anti-Money Laundering requirements. Grenke, a global financing company, has completed over 6,500 compliant digital contracts in 2025, eliminating the need for video identification. Learn more about Grenke's success.

UK: Right to Work with Onfido

Our pre-built Maestro workflow template streamlines UK Right to Work checks through Onfido's certified digital verification service. Leveraging our template, we enable HR teams to conduct compliant, auditable identity checks entirely online, centralizing candidate data and replacing costly, fragmented processes that previously frustrated hiring managers.

United States: CLEAR, ID.me & IAL2

Docusign became the first agreement management provider to partner with CLEAR’s secure identification platform, CLEAR1, enabling integrated, real-time verification. We also expanded the scope of our partnership with CLEAR and launched a new partnership with ID.me to deliver a pre-built  Identity Assurance Level 2 (IAL2) identity verification configuration. Organizations can now seamlessly integrate federally recognized identity proofing into their digital agreement workflows

United States: Dynamic verification with Socure

We also launched a new integration with Socure to deliver Risk-Based Verification, a workflow that dynamically adjusts the type of verification a recipient must complete based on an instantly generated risk score. By automatically adjusting the verification method to risk score, businesses can more effectively balance security with user experience whilst supporting compliance (i.e. FINRA) obligations.    

Brazil: Advanced Electronic Signatures (AES)

Our new integration with Registro Civil do Brasil (IdRC) enables Advanced Electronic Signatures with biometric and biographic authentication. The system issues ICP-RC digital certificates for each signature, meeting Brazilian regulations for both standard agreements and real estate transactions that require notarization. APAC: Japan & ANZ Enhancements

We partnered with Liquid to provide tailored identity verification for Japanese businesses, supporting local ID formats and data residency. We then expanded the partnership to include  IC-chip reading capabilities using NFC technology for heightened identity assurance, supporting compliance with evolving regulations. In Australia and New Zealand, IDVerse® became our default verification provider, offering access to a Trusted Digital Identity Framework (TDIF)accredited solution with in-region data storage.

Platform-wide enhancements for faster verification

Beyond our expanded partnerships and regional launches, we delivered several platform-wide enhancements to help customers build trust across all stages of the agreement lifecycle.

Identity Wallet for repeat recipients

QES in Maestro workflows

Participants can now complete the identity verification component required for Qualified Electronic Signatures (QES) as a dedicated step within Maestro workflow templates. Improved QES recipient experience

Our updated QES user experience keeps recipients in the same session with informative waiting screens during verification. This helps eliminate delayed waiting periods, significantly reducing friction and improving completion rates. Learn more about the QES signing process.

Stand-alone identity verification

Identity verification now extends beyond envelope contexts and can occur at any point in the agreement process through Docusign Maestro. Flexible QES with multiple Trust Service Providers (TSPs)

Recipients completing a QES in the EU and UK can now select their preferred TSP from a pre-configured list. This enhancement allows signers to use familiar providers they already have accounts with, simplifying the experience and reducing complexity.
