Docusign Discover 25 recap: The future of agentic AI-Powered agreements
At Discover25, developers got firsthand experience with the latest features and AI-powered tools to streamline building smarter integrations with Docusign.

Agreements have long been at the core of business operations, but with the rise of AI and agents, agreement management is fundamentally evolving. Developers are key to unlocking the value of agreements and scaling agreement workflows beyond manual processes. On October 30, developers, builders, and partners came together for our second annual Docusign Discover event to explore this evolving landscape, experience new features and tools, get hands-on with the latest developer capabilities, and share insights and direct feedback with product and engineering leaders. Watch the full recap video. One attendee shared that the experience offered a valuable look into the AI-powered future of agreements:
“It was an incredible experience diving deep into the future of Intelligent Agreement Management (IAM) and seeing firsthand how AI and agentic workflows are reshaping the way we think about agreements, collaboration, and automation.”

Keynote: Agentic-AI agreement solutions in action
Docusign CEO Allan Thygesen announced that Docusign is bringing its leading contract AI to ChatGPT. Lead Partner Solution Architect Purnima Ravichandran gave a demo of what that integration could look like, illustrating how a seller could generate and send an NDA to a customer, all through natural language queries in ChatGPT. This streamlined example offered a glimpse into the agentic future of agreement management on the IAM platform, where users can execute and manage agreements alongside other tasks through their AI tool of choice.
Docusign CTO Sagnik Nandy expanded on this vision. He discussed the company's evolution into an agentic partner, creating a foundation for powerful agentic abilities across many different AI-powered platforms. Anahita Afshari, Cloud Solution Architect at Microsoft, followed with another agentic AI example, showing how an agent built on Azure AI Foundry can leverage the Docusign MCP Server (beta) in concert with other agents to adjust the price of a contract. The MCP server simplifies integration into other agentic tools as well, speeding up development and making it easy to chain multiple specialized AI tools together for more complex workflows.
Docusign Chief Product Officer Dmitri Krakovsky walked through the use of Docusign Maestro, a no-code workflow automation tool, to orchestrate complex agreements from start to finish. JoAnna Freeland, Director of Product Management at Fiserv, demonstrated how financial institutions can leverage Maestro workflows to streamline the customer address-change process, reducing context switching for customers and minimizing manual cross-platform steps for the bank. What was once a time-consuming task can now be completed in as little as 15 minutes.
Dmitri described how Navigator, an AI-powered smart repository, centralizes and transforms signed agreements into a searchable system of record. Lead Product Manager Deepti Gangwani demonstrated the new Docusign Power BI connector (beta), showing how Navigator agreement analytics can be combined with other business data natively in Power BI dashboards. Agreement data is valuable on its own, but it’s even more valuable when combined with additional business insights. The new Power BI connector seamlessly brings those insights together, delivering faster, more accurate reporting without the manual work of downloading and combining individual reports.

DevX panel: Converting agreements into tangible value
After exploring what’s possible with IAM and agentic AI, the conversation shifted to how developers can apply these capabilities in the real world. Tracy Lee, CEO at This Dot Labs, moderated a panel discussion about extracting tangible value from signed agreements and using AI to transform post-signature processes and workflows. We were joined by developer experience leaders, including:
Marcos Placona, Founder, DevRel Bridge
Rebecca Denman, VP, Product Management, Docusign
David Hansen, Platform Partnerships Manager, Stripe
Chris Apaliski, Vice President of Product Marketing, JP Morgan Chase
When developers treat and think of agreements as executable workflows rather than static objects, and especially when they use AI to accelerate agreement processes, agreements quickly become a lot more valuable.

Deep dives: Automation and AI-powered tools and insights
Equipped with new knowledge on agentic agreements, attendees joined breakout sessions and hands-on workshops, opting to learn about automating the agreement lifecycle with extensible workflows or accessing agreement data through AI-assisted search and retrieval with the Navigator API (limited availability).
The breakouts covered key product updates and featured a variety of speakers ranging from Docusign engineers to product leaders to partners who shared their firsthand experience building with Docusign.
Eliminate manual steps and reduce errors with automated workflows
Routine agreement processes often get bogged down by manual steps, leading to data errors. The Automate the Agreement Lifecycle session covered the use of Maestro workflows to automate those processes, reducing data entry errors and streamlining the experience. Attendees learned how to leverage the Maestro API, now in general availability, with use cases like account opening. Through the Maestro API, developers can build automated systems to kick off and track workflow instances and embed workflows in their apps, eliminating unnecessary context switching for customers.
Turn static agreements into actionable data
Agreements can offer businesses a wealth of valuable data, but it often gets trapped in static files like PDFs. In the Unlock Agreement Data session, attendees saw how the Navigator API, now in limited availability, enables developers to turn those static files into structured data, which can then be integrated into external systems or leveraged for Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) applications. New Navigator API endpoints can simplify the process of uploading agreements and extracting AI-powered insights from those agreements.
Accelerate development with AI-native tools
In the Smarter Tools, Faster Builds session, our experts introduced the latest developer experience updates, designed to enable faster and easier integration with Docusign. This session included demos of our latest AI tools, including the GitHub Copilot extension for Visual Studio Code and our brand-new Docusign MCP Server (beta).

Hands-on learning: Building real-world integrations
The workshops were designed to give developers practical, hands-on experience with our latest features and tools, helping them move from concept to working solutions. Developers built workflows that leveraged connected field extensions to perform real-time custom data verification and called the Navigator API with the new IAM SDK to turn static agreements into structured data. They also had the opportunity to be the first to explore the Docusign Model Context Protocol (MCP) Server, integrating it into GitHub Copilot and chatting about their agreements. You can find the code for both workshops on GitHub, with instructions you can follow along on your own and keep the learning going.

Throughout the day, attendees were able to dabble with Maestro workflows in the Docusign Developer Lab, getting direct experience building workflows that fit their own use cases.
Looking ahead: Continued collaboration in the agentic era
To close out the day, VP of Product Management Larry Jin and VP of Engineering Apurva Dalal offered a look into the future of the IAM platform and what’s next on the product roadmap. Senior Engineering Manager Bharat Rele shared a demo of the upcoming Docusign command-line interface (CLI) toolkit that enables customization of Navigator with custom fields and AI training sets, all through the CLI. Then Senior Product Manager Rajvir Sethi gave a preview of the upgraded Developer Console that will provide a more seamless experience, enabling developers to build API integrations alongside extension apps. Support for developers is a key part of our roadmap, and it’s especially important with the acceleration of AI tools and agents.
Discover25 gave developers a first look at how Docusign is meeting the moment of agentic agreements. One attendee wrote:
“This event reaffirmed Docusign’s role as the leader in contract lifecycle management.”

But none of these product advancements would be possible without you, our developers and partners. A Discover25 session with the Partner Innovation Community underscored the value of this ongoing collaboration. During this private session, Docusign partners joined product decision-makers to share their real-world experiences building with Docusign, noting pain points and brainstorming about how to improve Docusign tools and features. In addition to providing feedback, partners had the chance to connect with each other and swap best practices.
As Docusign evolves to meet the changing agreement management landscape, your continued partnership is invaluable to ensuring that we’re headed in the right direction. Thank you for being on this journey with us.
