Perceptyx now serves half of the Fortune 100 companies, but its growth created new challenges for the company’s lean legal team of eight. Each year, the team had to contend with 250 renewals and 50 new agreement requests in their inbox—without a centralized source of information to reference.
One of the biggest obstacles was intake. Sales representatives met with customers, wrote notes in Salesforce, and sent requests to a shared legal inbox with little standardization. As deals progressed, additional details arrived through separate emails and Slack messages, forcing legal to piece together information from multiple sources.
The result was hours spent gathering context instead of reviewing contracts, creating frustration across the business.

How do you move from reactive to proactive contract generation?
With a strong foundation in place, Perceptyx is now focused on expanding self-service capabilities and automation. Using Docusign, sellers can generate agreements directly within Salesforce, allowing legal to focus on the later stages of the contract process. In addition, Docusign’s integration with Salesforce means that information is shared seamlessly between both systems, reducing manual data entry and potential errors.
Mills looks forward to the potential of AI agents to accelerate Perceptyx’s sales cycle. His team has built playbooks for AI-Assisted Review, reducing manual review of NDAs and requests for proposals. He also expects to use AI agents for document comparison and redlining down the line.
Like many organizations, Perceptyx approached AI cautiously at first. But as contract volume climbs, Mills views intelligent automation as essential for efficiency and lowering burnout.
