Docusign Brings Agreement Intelligence to Small Businesses in ChatGPT

Like all organizations, small businesses run on agreements, but they rarely have the staff to manage them the way an enterprise legal or ops team does.

Today, Docusign joins OpenAI's featured collection of 16 plugins for small businesses in ChatGPT. With the Docusign plugin, small business owners can connect ChatGPT directly to Docusign Intelligent Agreement Management (IAM) to create, analyze, and manage agreements using natural language without leaving the conversation or adding headcount.

Through a secure connector built on the Docusign MCP Server — which will be generally available on September 30 — the plugin brings the enterprise-grade power of IAM into the tools where small businesses already work and moves ChatGPT from passive summarization to active execution. 

From conversation to agreement

Instead of searching across systems or manually reviewing documents, small businesses can ask ChatGPT to:

• "Summarize the obligations in this supplier agreement and flag any deadlines coming up."

• "Create an NDA for a new supplier and let me know when it's ready to send."

• "Show me client contracts coming up for renewal in the next 90 days, and draft a renewal email for each one."

Each workflow runs through Docusign IAM’s platform, so existing permissions carry over. Sensitive actions such as sending a contract for signature still require human approval before they move forward.

Built on Docusign's ChatGPT integration

Docusign’s app for ChatGPT and Codex launched in June, bringing agreement intelligence and workflows to teams across sales, legal, procurement, HR, and finance. The SMB plugin extends that same agreement layer to the needs of small businesses and lean teams.
