Executive Team

  • Allan Thygesen

    Chief Executive Officer

    Allan Thygesen has served as Chief Executive Officer of Docusign since October 2022. In his role as CEO, Allan leads employees globally to capture the company's largely untapped $50B market opportunity, as it continues to diversify and delight its more than one million customers and over a billion users.

    Most recently Allan served as President, Americas & Global Partners at Google, leading the company’s more than $100 billion advertising business across North and South America. Prior to this role, he served as the President of Google Marketing Solutions, overseeing the global mid-market and small advertiser business, which serves millions of customers worldwide.

    Ahead of joining Google in 2010, Allan Thygesen was a managing director and partner in the U.S. venture and growth funds of The Carlyle Group, where he led investments in startups in sectors including e-commerce, enterprise software and more. He has also held executive positions in several public and private companies, including Wink Communications, Inc., an interactive television technology company.

    Allan has served on the board of directors of RingCentral, Inc. since October 2015 and served as a Lecturer at Stanford's Graduate School of Business from 2014-2021. He received a master's degree in economics from the University of Copenhagen and an MBA degree from the Stanford Graduate School of Business, where he graduated as an Arjay Miller scholar.

  • Blake Grayson

    Chief Financial Officer

    As Docusign’s Chief Financial Officer, Blake Grayson leads the company’s finance team and is responsible for ensuring we deliver against our operating plan, identifying and executing on opportunities for improved efficiency and driving Docusign’s strategic roadmap.

    Blake joined Docusign in June 2023 from The Trade Desk, where he was Chief Financial Officer, with responsibilities that included controllership, tax, treasury, analysis, investor relations, facilities and financial operations at a highly successful, category-leading public software company. Prior to The Trade Desk, Blake spent more than a decade at Amazon, in various roles including Vice President, Finance for the International Consumer business, in which he served as the head of finance for businesses in Europe, the Middle East and Asia. He also held finance leadership roles at Amazon in their Marketplace, Consumables, and Amazon Web Services businesses. Before that, Blake held roles at Washington Mutual/JP Morgan Chase where he led Payments finance and the FP&A functions.

    Blake earned a bachelor’s degree in business from the University of Washington and an MBA from the University of Southern California Marshall School of Business.

  • Steve Shute

    President, WW Field Operations

    As President of WW Field Operations, Steve is responsible for leading Docusign’s unified sales and success organization, with a focus on growth and delivering customer impact at scale. Steve brings nearly three decades of experience leading global enterprise sales and success organizations at companies including SAP, IBM and Allscripts. Prior to joining Docusign, Steve served as the president of Global Sales & GTM for Customer Success at SAP, and was responsible for the largest, most strategic customers and segments as well as SAP’s global partner organization.

    Steve also serves as a Board Advisor to Coveo, Project44 and a Board Member of the 2022 Heart of Chicago campaign in affiliation with the American Heart Foundation. He holds an MBA from the University of Notre Dame’s Mendoza College of Business and is a graduate of the University of Dayton.

  • Robert Chatwani

    President and General Manager, Growth

    As President and General Manager, Growth, Robert Chatwani leads Docusign’s Marketing & Growth organization to scale its digital strategy across marketing, product, technology and sales. Robert is responsible for Docusign's product-led growth and execution, encompassing growth product and engineering teams, related data analytics, and all marketing and operations teams focused on digital expansion, demand generation and lead qualification. He also leads all Chief Marketing Officer functions, including product marketing, field marketing, communications and public relations, content, creative and brand strategy.

    Before joining Docusign, Robert was CMO of Atlassian, a pioneer in product-led growth, and led global teams across marketing, brand, communications and data science. Prior to that, Robert was Chief Revenue & Marketing Officer for social e-commerce platform Spring. He also spent more than a decade at eBay, ending his tenure as Chief Marketing Officer for North America where his teams supported $35 billion in trading volume.

    Robert is the 2023 American Heart Association Bay Area Heart Walk Chair and is a West Coast Board Member at the American India Foundation. He received a bachelor’s degree in economics and marketing from DePaul University, and an MBA from the University of California, Berkeley, Haas School of Business. He also studied at Kansai Gaidai University in Japan.

  • Anwar Akram

    Chief Operating Officer

    Anwar Akram has served as Docusign’s Chief Operating Officer since January 2023. In his role as COO he leads the company’s Strategy & Operations organization responsible for championing the development of Docusign’s business strategy, driving transformation of operations, leading companywide and cross-functional planning, delivering business critical insights, and helping evolve early-stage ideas into future growth initiatives.

    Most recently, Anwar spent more than a decade at Google where he served as VP of Operational Effectiveness leading cross-functional initiatives to improve operational productivity. These efforts resulted in improved adoption of best practices, streamlined procurement, and extended workforce productivity. In addition, his Google tenure included leadership roles across a wide range of organizations and business units, including sales, support, strategy and operations. Prior to Google, Anwar also held executive and leadership roles at Microsoft and McKinsey & Company.

    Anwar received an MBA degree from Harvard Business School, and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Houston.

  • Jennifer Christie

    Chief People Officer

    Jennifer Christie serves as Chief People Officer at Docusign where she oversees the global human resource function including the company’s diversity and inclusion initiatives, the Docusign IMPACT Foundation and more. She also plays an active role in the product and go to market strategy for its HR vertical.

    Most recently, Jennifer served as Chief People Officer at Bolt, a fintech startup, where she oversaw the HR, Internal Communications, and Real Estate and Workplace teams, and was responsible for Bolt’s Conscious Culture organization focused on transforming corporate culture and defining the future of work. Prior to Bolt, Jennifer was the Chief Human Resources Officer at Twitter where she led the global People as well as the Real Estate and Workplace teams, and worked with the executive team and the board of directors to support the strategic direction of the company.

    Jennifer has also held senior roles at American Express including SVP of HR for the Global Consumer Services Group, VP and HR Business Partner for Enterprise Growth Group and Chief Diversity Officer and VP, Global Executive Recruitment. Prior, she was a consultant at a leading executive search firm and also spent two years as a Special Assistant to the President of the United States in the White House Office of Presidential Personnel.

    Jennifer is a member of the board of directors for Special Love, a nonprofit organization that supports children with cancer and their families. She received a master’s degree in criminal justice from The George Washington University and a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

  • Kamal Hathi

    Chief Technology Officer

    As Chief Technology Officer, Kamal Hathi is responsible for engineering, cloud operations and technology strategy, focused on delivering a high scale, highly reliable service with rapid innovation that enables customers globally to run their businesses on Docusign. Prior to Docusign, Kamal has a long history of delivering successful, high scale products and services that customers love. This includes serving as General Manager for Microsoft’s Power BI products, having helped found Microsoft’s Business Intelligence and Analytics products in SQL Server and Excel. Kamal also serves on the board of Slickdeals.net.

    He received a master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering from Case Western Reserve University and a bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering from the MS University of Baroda.

  • Shanthi Iyer

    Chief Information Officer

    Shanthi Iyer currently serves as the Chief Information Officer at Docusign. Prior, Shanthi started at Cisco in 1997 as an Oracle DBA, working across the company in multiple infrastructure, services, commerce, sales and supply chain roles—ultimately becoming the chief data officer and SVP of the Data & Analytics group. Before Cisco, she worked at Applied Materials in Santa Clara and MashreqBank in Dubai.

    Iyer has been recognized by the Silicon Valley YWCA Tribute to Women and received multiple leadership awards from the Stevie Awards for Women in Business. She holds a B.S. in Math from the University of Madras and a diploma in Computer Science from the National Institute of Information Technology in Chennai. Shanthi also completed MIT’s Supply Chain Leadership Program and the Executive Data Science Program from Northwestern University.

  • Dmitri Krakovsky

    Chief Product Officer

    Dmitri Krakovsky is Chief Product Officer at Docusign, where he oversees product, user experience, user research and data science. He is passionate about building intuitive, intelligent and useful enterprise software. Dmitri joined Docusign in June 2023 from Unit4 where he led the development of its ERP product suite as Chief Product Officer. Prior to Unit4, he was a Vice President of Products at Google Cloud where he worked on applications, platforms and machine learning-powered data services. Dmitri was also Chief Product Officer at SuccessFactors where he led the company through growth, NYSE listing and acquisition by SAP. Earlier in his career, he led advertiser products at Yahoo, Quickbooks product management at Intuit, and held various positions at a number of startups.

    Dmitri received an MBA from Harvard and a master’s and bachelor’s degrees in computer science from New York University.

  • Jim Shaughnessy

    Chief Legal Officer

    Jim Shaughnessy is Chief Legal Officer for Docusign where he is responsible for building, leading and overseeing legal affairs, government relations and risk management for the company.

    Jim brings over 25 years of experience representing technology companies across public policy and legal affairs. Prior to Docusign, he spent 10 years at Workday serving in various roles including General Counsel and Senior Advisor for Corporate Affairs where he was responsible for policy and public affairs and the company’s corporate tech-for-good initiatives. Before that, Jim held General Counsel roles at Orbitz, Lenovo, PeopleSoft, and was Deputy General Counsel at Hewlett Packard. He is also a director on the boards of BSA and Wild Aid.

    Jim holds a Juris Doctor degree and a master’s degree in public policy from the University of Michigan, as well as a bachelor’s degree from Northern Michigan University.
