#SignatureSeasons Blog Series: Season's Greetings
The holidays are officially here -- which means twinkling lights, cold nights, and plenty of hot chocolate. While wintertime is the season of giving, we also think it’s an excellent opportunity to give back.
Year-round, our DocuSign IMPACT organization harnesses the passion and devotion of our employees to make a local impact in their communities through volunteer-time-off (VTO). Whether through our people, our product, or our profits, we think there’s no better time than the holidays to devote resources to philanthropic organizations -- and invite all our readers, whether DocuSign employees or not -- to join in.
DocuSign has had the opportunity to support all of the following organizations, and while there are countless ways to give back this season, here are some ideas for getting started.
Provide holiday gifts to youth in foster care
Founded by a group of social workers in 1988, Treehouse helps support children in foster care, with the goal of seeing them graduate at the same rate as their peers. We’ve had the opportunity to volunteer at Treehouse for several IMPACT days in a row. The organization provides academic support, clothing, and more to over 7,000 children each year. Looking to help out this holiday season? Take a look at Treehouse’s Holiday Magic program here.
Provide footwear to those in need
Redeeming Soles is committed to providing footwear to underprivileged men, women, and children throughout the northwest. We’ve had the opportunity to volunteer with the organization during several Global Impact Days, as well as during our Annual Sales Kickoff. If you’re looking to lend a hand, click here -- or you can donate to Redeeming Soles here. A $20 donation provides 20 pairs of shoes to those in need.
Help build homes for deserving families
Giveback Homes is “a community of real estate professionals who are committed to creating social change by helping build homes for deserving families around the globe.” We’ve had the privilege of working with their organization for the past several years. Whether you want to roll up your sleeves and put up some siding, or simply support the organization through donations, a home for a deserving family is one of the best possible gifts a person can give during the holiday season -- and year-round. Learn more about joining the movement here.
Support disaster response
Founded by U.S. Marines William McNulty and Jacob “Jake” Wood, Team Rubicon “unites the skills and experiences of military veterans with first responders to rapidly deploy emergency response teams.” Over the years, we have worked closely with Team Rubicon to help empower their mission, and encourage any and all to support their organization this holiday season -- and year-round. You can join Team Rubicon’s “Support Squad” here.
Transform lives through sports
We’re proud to help support the Special Olympics through our technology and our people. Since 2015, the Special Olympics has minimized the hassle of paperwork by leveraging the DocuSign technology at a special nonprofit rate, and thus, have been able to devote more time and resources to their goals.
If you’re looking to support the Special Olympics but aren’t sure where to start, click here. In addition to donating, the Special Olympics are seeking both short-term and long-term volunteers to help further their mission.
Encourage girls pursuing S.T.E.M. careers
Last spring we had the privilege of hosting a group of Techbridge Girls at our annual Sales Kickoff and at our Momentum customer conference. Founded in 2000, the organization works to “expand the academic and career options for girls in science, technology, and engineering.” As a technology company this cause is especially relevant to us: During our customer conference in May, we held our annual hackathon to help assist Techbridge Girls.
