“We’re a relatively small team, but we manage a lot of complexity,” Hollady said. “We needed the right level of technology and automation to support our work without overinvesting in something that didn’t match our needs.”

The legal team handles about 50 new customers and 250 renewals a year. For a small and lean team, the company’s legacy contract lifecycle management system was costly, difficult to justify, and overly complex. Rather than adding more point solutions, Perceptyx chose Docusign Intelligent Agreement Management (IAM) to simplify and unify agreement processes across the business.

Unifying agreement management under  one  platform

Rather than layering additional point solutions onto an already fragmented workflow, Perceptyx selected Docusign IAM to consolidate agreement processes across the business. What began as a plan to replace a single CLM tool evolved into a broader transformation. Docusign IAM delivered a unified platform, including document generation, electronic signature, centralized document management, workflow automation, and AI-powered insights, all in one place.

With Agreement Desk, legal and sales teams now collaborate in a shared workspace to request, review, and complete contracts. Real-time visibility into agreement status keeps stakeholders aligned and reduces unnecessary back-and-forth. For the legal team, the impact is significant. By centralizing tools and automating routine steps, they can support more stakeholders, manage a high volume of agreements, and expand their reach across the business, all without increasing headcount.

Docusign IAM has also improved  how Perceptyx’s sales teams work with contracts. Instead of switching between multiple systems, sales reps can generate agreements, request legal reviews, send documents for signature, and track progress within a single platform.

With Docusign Gen integrated into Salesforce, sales representatives can initiate automated, consistent contract creation from the Salesforce interface they already use. A centralized intake and ticketing system in IAM further reduces friction, making it easier for sales to engage with legal and receive timely support.

“If I want sellers to keep engaging with legal, I need to make it as simple as possible,” Hollady said. “Within a couple of months, we saw a big drop in complaints and issues from sales.”

The result is faster agreement turnaround, smoother cross-functional collaboration, and fewer bottlenecks. By keeping work within familiar systems like Salesforce and Docusign, Perceptyx has made contracting a seamless part of the sales process.

Laying the groundwork for automation and AI

With a centralized agreement platform in place, Perceptyx is building a strong foundation for automation and AI-driven workflows.

Using Docusign Maestro, the team has automated legal intake and triage, replacing a manual process previously handled by a single team member. Requests are now routed automatically and efficiently,enabling the legal team  to focus on higher-value work.

Docusign provides a centralized repository for agreements that were previously scattered across systems like Google Drive, Salesforce, and individual desktops. This consolidation makes documents easier to find and enables deeper visibility into contract data. Perceptyx has started using  AI to gain insights from this data. Teams can search across contracts, identify key terms, and extract information to support better decision-making. The legal team is also exploring AI-assisted contract review as part of its long-term roadmap.

“We’re moving toward an AI-driven world,” Hollady said. “Having AI capabilities built into Docusign, a system that we value, makes it much easier to adopt and experiment.”

Building a foundation for the future of contracts

After seeing strong results  in legal and sales, Perceptyx is extending IAM into new areas such as procurement. Like many growing companies, procurement processes were previously less structured and lacked visibility. Now, the legal team uses IAM to standardize workflows, track renewals, and improve control over vendor agreements.

At the same time, Perceptyx is shifting toward a more proactive approach to contracting. “Our goal is to move from reacting to contracts to anticipating what’s needed and driving the process forward,” Hollady said.
