Dreamforce 2018: Your Complete Recap
Count them: 1, 2, 3, 4 days of Dreamforce 2018 are in the books and the event is now over! This year we joined over 170,000 attendees who descended on San Francisco, along with 10 million virtual attendees, for nonstop Salesforce action. We attended this year with much excitement coming off the success of Dreamforce 2017, and did so with three big sponsorships.
To start off, this year we became Dreamforce’s first ever Double Platinum Sponsor. At the Customer Success Expo, booth 1218 combined DocuSign and SpringCM to form perhaps the biggest booth Dreamforce has seen. Then, on the Trailhead, the DocuSign API team showed up in style as a Peta Sponsor to talk all things DocuSign for Salesforce, including discussing the brand new DocuSign for Salesforce Apex Toolkit. And lastly, this year we were the exclusive platinum sponsor for Salesforce CPQ.
But there was a lot more that happened and was announced beyond just showing up with some sponsorships in our back pocket.
SpringCM Contract Management is Available for Sale Now
In case you missed it, earlier this month DocuSign completed its acquisition of SpringCM as part of our mission of providing a truly modern System of Agreement. With SpringCM Contract Management, you can accelerate and simplify your agreement process right now. When you adopt it, you’ll save time, cut costs, and reduce risks by removing the manual processes of preparing, signing, acting on, and managing agreements.
If you like what DocuSign does for signing, you’ll love what we can do for generating agreements. That’s why we want you to meet DocuSign Gen, our new product for automatically generating documents within Salesforce. With DocuSign Gen, customers will be able to generate agreements by filling in data from Salesforce, centralize negotiations with redlining and version control, and standardize content with a clause library – all automatically, all digital. DocuSign Gen is tentatively available in Spring 2019.
Additions to the DocuSign Advisory Board
At the start of this week and coinciding with Dreamforce, DocuSign was proud to make three wonderful additions to the DocuSign Advisory Board. Dan Springer, CEO, DocuSign, along with Keith Krach, Chairman, DocuSign, welcomed three sports legends to the DocuSign family:
- CJ Anderson, Super Bowl champion running back currently with the Carolina Panthers
- Roy Hibbert, two-time NBA All-Star with tenures playing for the Indiana Pacers and Los Angeles Lakers
- Steve Lavin, legendary NCAA basketball coach with tenures at UCLA and St. John’s
The Customer Success Expo is where you could find our Double Platinum DocuSign + SpringCM booth. We took all of our booth visitors through the four stages of the modern System of Agreement: Prepare, Sign, Act, and Manage. These conversations also included much chatter around DocuSign Gen and SpringCM Contract Management. At the beginning of the week, Salesforce stopped by to snag interviews with Dan Springer, CEO, DocuSign, as well as with Dan Dal Degan, Senior VP of CLM Sales, DocuSign. And don’t forget about Appy. Appy made the rounds from the plaza to the Trailhead to Booth 1218, always sporting a DocuSign t-shirt.
On the Trailhead, our DocuSign API team was busy as always. We had three monitors setup to give demos on DocuSign for Salesforce, including the many ways to customize your experience with features like custom buttons and workflow automation. We also had our developers on-hand to talk about the brand new DocuSign for Salesforce Apex Toolkit, which you can dive into here. And if that wasn’t enough, visitors to our developer booth were able to complete DocuSign University courses and take part in the ultimate Trailhead journey. Oh, and if you want even more info, here are all of the cool things we gave away:
- 1 Google Pixel 2 Phone
- 1 360 Fly 4K Video Camera
- 2 Mini 3D Printers
- 1 Oculus Rift
- LOTS of DocuSign socks
More than 2,700 sessions were conducted this year at Dreamforce – the most ever. DocuSign hosted over 20 of them, with speakers ranging from Scott Olrich, CMO to Andy Tzou, Lead Product Manager to Geoffrey Moore, Author, Speaker, and Advisor. Here are some of our favorite words of wisdom from this week’s speakers.
The W Experience
Home base this week for DocuSign was The W San Francisco, right across the street from Moscone South and Dreamforce. From morning to night, customers were constantly in and out, meetings were being held, knowledge was being had, and more. Here are the four main highlights.
Three Distinct Happy Hours
For the first three evenings of Dreamforce, we held a happy hour each night with our amazing DocuSign customers and employees. The goal was to meet with others, learn about their agreement processes, and talk DocuSign for Salesforce. But beyond that, we also wanted all involved to have a great time. The first evening featured musician Michael Franti, who performed for the audience and mingled with fans afterward. Day 2 welcomed Geoffrey Moore, who sat down with Scott Olrich for a discussion – whiskey in-hand – on the modern System of Agreement. Then Happy Hour 3 welcomed the three new additions to the DocuSign Advisory Board: CJ Anderson, Roy Hibbert, and Steve Lavin.
This lunch, learn, and build event is a repeat from Dreamforce 2017. It was such a smash hit though, we just had to bring it back for 2018. We invited all Dreamforce attendees to join us for free lunch and great conversations on the number 1 eSignature app in the AppExchange, DocuSign for Salesforce. This included chats with our expert developers and admins, as well as in-depth conversations on the brand new DocuSign for Salesforce Apex Toolkit. Thanks to everyone who made it!
VIP Customer Lounge
Open throughout the day on each of the first three days was the DocuSign VIP Customer Lounge. This was a great area for customers to take in a drink with our trusty sales representatives and engineers.
We want to thank everyone who scheduled a meeting with us this year. We were fortunate to have scheduled over 600 meetings!
Looking to the Future
Dreamforce 2018 went above and beyond our expectations, which is only a segue into saying we can’t wait to see what Dreamforce 2019 has in store. We would like to extend a very big “thank you” to everyone who came to one of our booths, chatted with us, attended our sessions, or just simply learned a bit more about DocuSign.
See you next year!
