Alessandro led his consultancy's efforts to integrate Docusign with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central using the eSignature REST API.

Spotlight Developer, Alessandro Menegatti

Alessandro Menegatti earned his Master's Degree in Computer Science from the University of Torino in 2009. Following his academic pursuits, he dedicated eight years to contributing to the success of a prominent cloud service provider, Criticalcase, in Italy. Commencing his journey as a System Administrator, Alessandro progressively integrated into the core team of the company, assuming the role of a lead tech and subsequently overseeing the Support and Sales teams. In 2015, Alessandro emigrated to the United States, and in 2021, embarked on a new professional chapter as a developer for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. Presently, Alessandro works for NAV SEAL, where he continues to apply and enhance his skills in the dynamic field of technology.

For NAV SEAL, Alessandro has played a key role in developing their Docusign–Business Central integration using the eSignature REST API. Initially intended as a proof of concept for a specific client, the scope of the project expanded significantly when NAV SEAL identified the potential to develop an app for a broader audience. A notable challenge arose from the fact that Docusign was not offering an SDK for AL code, the programming language employed by Business Central. Consequently, the task at hand involved crafting the code to call Docusign API endpoints entirely from scratch. Fortunately, the exceptional documentation provided by Docusign proved instrumental, making the development process notably smoother compared to many other projects in which Alessandro has participated. The result, as documented in the NAV SEAL API Success Story on the Docusign Developer Blog, integrates Docusign seamlessly into the Dynamics Business Central user interface, enabling users to send quotes and sales orders for electronic signature directly from within Business Central and store the signed copies back into Business Central, where users can download them for review.

Alessandro takes great joy in outdoor activities, particularly engaging in walks and runs. Sharing these moments with his wife and their energetic Goldendoodle, Wally, is truly special. He loves cooking, and another significant passion is traveling. Alessandro makes a conscious effort to travel whenever possible: visiting family and friends in Italy and Denmark holds a special place in his heart, and he strives to make these connections as frequently as his schedule allows.
