Local charities are making an IMPACT in Australia

Summary3 min read

Docusign kicks off global IMPACT day by supporting local charities with volunteers to help them with the amazing work they do each day.

Every year on the 15th of November, Docusign comes together to support local charities in every region. Any and every task is on the cards to support the amazing work local organisations do to help those less fortunate.

We call it Global IMPACT Day and this year we worked with several organisations across New South Wales and Victoria.

We’d love for you to read more about the charities below and check out their websites to learn more about how you can get involved and support the work they do.

Habitat for Humanity, NSW

Habitat for Humanity is a nationwide organisation that, with the help of volunteers and sponsors, help low-income families build and own their very own safe and secure home.

We went to the Salvation Army’s Foster House in Surry Hills. Foster House is a homeless centre providing accommodation, life skills training, case management, medical and detoxification assistance for homeless men each night. The team spent time cleaning, repairing and painting four bedrooms. The bedrooms were given a fresh new look so that those rough sleepers using the space can feel happy, clean and safe.

Foodbank, NSW & ACT

Foodbank is Australia’s largest food relief organisation and the only certified by The Global Foodbanking Network. Foodbank provides more than 70% of the food rescued for food relief organisations nation-wide and is crucial to the work of many front-line charities.

We joined Foodbank in their NSW & ACT distribution warehouse. They have 30 amazing volunteers that join them every day to find, sort, package and ship out 200,000 kilograms every week to feed the hungry and vulnerable.

Wairoa School, NSW

The Wairoa School provides educational programs for students with intellectual and multiple disabilities for both moderate and high support needs participants. Students are involved in a number of programs and fun days each year aimed at giving students and families a place to meet people, learn and have fun.

The team took part in an enormous working bee helping the school clean and sort equipment and rooms for the students.

Sydney Dogs & Cats Home, NSW

Sydney Dogs & Cats Home is the only charity pound in the city. The team has been taking care of lost, abandoned and neglected pets since 1946. They help rehome, and care for, over 3000 animals each year.

The Docusign team spent the day cleaning the facilities, including the kennels. They also had the opportunity to spend time with the animals; feeding, comforting, walking and playing with them.

FareShare, VIC

Fareshare rescue unwanted food that would otherwise go to waste and turn it into nutritious meals to feed those in need across Melbourne and Brisbane. The charity has an excellent relationship with supermarkets, wholesalers, and farmers and produces around 18,000 meals a day.

The Docusign team made their way into the Abbotsford kitchen to assist with food preparation and other tasks.

Docusign Impact Day is meant not just to give a helping hand to the community, but to showcase the incredible work of these charities and spread the word of the great work they are doing. We encourage everyone to learn more and explore opportunities of how you can get involved with these organisations in your area.
