Live from Momentum London: The Business Acceleration Event of 2018
Today at Momentum London, DocuSign unveiled our expanded company vision, centred on our System of Agreement strategy. Attendees from across EMEA discovered all that’s possible with DocuSign, from product demos to customer stories.
With the day now wrapped, you can re-live the event as it happened. Let’s dive in.
07:59 Almost time…
The doors are about to open for the business acceleration event of the year. Held at the Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET), there couldn’t be a more apt venue for Momentum London. We’re joined today by DocuSign’s customers and partners, as well as those who are just starting their digital transformation journey.
08:00 Momentum London 2018 has begun!
What better way to start the day than breakfast and being one of the first to explore our Demo Zone?
This year’s event is an opportunity to showcase our vision to accelerate business with a purpose-built System of Agreement platform. The Demo Zone brings this to life with interactive demonstrations covering the four steps of a System of Agreement: Prepare, Sign, Act, and Manage.
For example, over in Prepare, guests can try out the Comments feature to see how senders and signers can communicate within, and about, any DocuSign transaction. Those interested in faster revenue are heading to Act to see how payments can be collected as part of the signing process with DocuSign's partner Authorize.net.
Our local team is on hand ready to answer guests’ questions and chat about the newest product features over coffee.
08:30 Pathway Labs get underway
The first of six Pathway Labs begin, kicking off with Core Envelope Sending Components. The Labs are twenty-minute sessions providing intuitive training and tips to get the most out of DocuSign.
We also have Tuning Sessions running throughout the day, with our professional services consultants giving one-to-one advice for putting in place strategies for accelerating DocuSign deployment.
DocuSign CEO Dan Springer takes to the stage to properly kick off Momentum London 2018. Joined by Jacqueline de Gernier, DocuSign’s Area Vice President, Commercial Sales, they describe DocuSign’s journey as a love story 15 years in the making.
“If you ask any DocuSign employee what other people say when they hear you work at DocuSign, it’s always, “DocuSign? I love DocuSign,” says Dan. “They love it because it’s so much faster, simpler, and more convenient than dealing with paper and fax machines or scanners or the post or showing up somewhere to sign something.”
Dan discusses DocuSign becoming a public company and what a milestone it is, and what the future holds. Namely: an increase in European investment to increase customer support.
Scott Olrich takes to the stage to reveal DocuSign’s vision for a fully digital, modern System of Agreement, and how e-signature is just the first step. Plus, an important part of establishing a successful Ecosystem of Agreement is utilising DocuSign’s great partners, such as SpringCM.
Leading Forrester analyst, Ted Schadler, expands upon Scott’s points, discussing why now, in an era of automation, is the time for a modern System of Agreement.
Neil Hudspith, President, Worldwide Field Operations, at DocuSign introduces DocuSign customers to the stage: Salesforce, T-Mobile, Shell, Unilever, and Arm. Our customers discuss their successes with DocuSign and progress toward a modern System of Agreement.
With T-Mobile, we have a demonstration of Responsive Signing, one of the latest DocuSign product features that sees agreements adapt to the screen size of your users’ smartphones, while Shell highlighted the end-to-end automation provided by SpringCM, Salesforce, DocuSign and SAP.
Next up, DocuSign’s Chief Product Officer Ron Hirson announces what’s in store to improve developer experience and organisation administration, including pre-built integration with the Ethereum blockchain and DocuSign Identify with remote Photo ID verification.
One of the most popular parts of Momentum, the Breakout sessions delve into topical business issues, the latest product features, and real-life customer success stories.
What's new for DocuSign Administrators, with Ryan Winpenny, DocuSign’s Customer Success Architect, is revealing to attendees the latest game-changing product features for managing users and accounts at scale.
Forrester’s Senior TEI consultant Sebastian Selhorst is leading the session DocuSign ROI: A Forrester Study into the Economic Impact of E-Signature. Based on data from two British companies, Forrester Consulting has developed a financial model to evaluate the DocuSign’s ROI, covering benefits, costs, risk, and flexibility. Read the findings.
Mary Burke, DocuSign’s VP Customer Success EMEA, is presenting Developing your Blueprint for Success. We’ve talked about the modern System of Agreement this morning and this breakout shows just how to plan, execute, and measure the success of a new System of Agreement initiative. Mary is joined in the breakout by Jayne Delahunt, Senior Manager Customer Readiness at DocuSign; Lukas Moser, Customer Success Architect at DocuSign; and from customer AstraZeneca, we have José Antonio Paniagua, Collaboration Lead for Europe.
12:00 Breakouts continue
The GDPR came into effect in May this year and has been something our customers regularly talk about, so it’s not surprising that Keeping Data Private Post-GDPR is one of the most popular breakout sessions. A panel of DocuSign data privacy experts including Louise Kennedy General Counsel, EMEA at DocuSign, explain our approach to data privacy, with insights into cloud services and compliance. We are also joined by DocuSign customer Fieldfisher, represented by Senior Associate Lorna Cropper.
Ideal for attendees who are looking to take their DocuSign deployment to the next level, DocuSign’s Chris Hughes, Senior Technical Consultant and Cedric Falcou, Technical Consultant, leads Turbo-Charge Your DocuSign Deployment with API. Discussing integrating the DocuSign solution with core systems, the session explores both our pre-built connectors and our award-winning API.
It’s always great to hear from our customers and how they see their business processes progress with DocuSign. For Customer Success Stories: From Deployment to Digital Transformation, Specsavers, Citi, and T-Systems Ltd join us to discuss how they're progressing towards fully digital Systems of Agreement.
12:45 Networking and lunch
After a busy morning, it’s time for our guests to enjoy time with our peers and speak to our local team in the Demo Zone. With views across the Thames coupled with all the insights from today’s presentations, attendees are entering the afternoon inspired and keen to try out the rest of the interactive demos.
13:00 Pathway Labs continue
The last two sessions get underway: Basic Template Creation, followed by Creating a PowerForm. This latter session features one of our newest features as seen in the Autumn Release, so it’s exciting to see just what PowerForms can do.
14:00 Partner Summit
Reserved exclusively for DocuSign partners, this part of Momentum is a unique opportunity for the DocuSign partner community to hear more news and updates.
16:30 Closing cocktails
Making the most of the views at IET, it’s time for the DocuSign team to join our customers and partners for a well-earned drink on the roof terrace. Answering any questions and celebrating a fantastic event, we’re lucky with the October sunshine.

With a building full of business leaders and digital decision makers from a wide range of industries, we’re excited to see modern Systems of Agreement taking shape across enterprise and SMB, empowering staff, improving the customer experience, and delivering real results fast.
