In September 2016, we published our very first DocuSign developer newsletter. One year later, we’re excited to recap the amazing progress we’ve made with our Developer Center, tools, SDKs, recipes, and especially our spotlight developers. We’re also proud of the amazing customer stories we’ve published as API case studies. This blog post highlights some of the best of the last year that we’ve published in the DocuSign developer newsletter. If you want to review any specific newsletter, please see our developer newsletter archive.

Spotlight Developers

Let’s start with our favorite section of the developer newsletter – our spotlight developers. In this section, we focus on developers that are doing amazing things with our eSignature API. This includes some DocuSign engineers that work on the Dev Center team, customers, partners, and DocuSign MVPs . Each of the developers that we spotlight have interesting stories about their DocuSign journey, their outstanding development skills, their vision, and also their personal stories and interests. Please make sure you read their stories. If you are interested in being featured as a spotlight developer, please email me at “tony dot mann at docusign dot com” (format changed to avoid bots).

Awards

During the course of the last year, we’ve achieved a few awards for our eSignature API, but so has one of our customers. Check them out below.

DocuSign Wins Enterprise API Award

The 2016 API Awards received hundreds of nominations, and the API World advisory board selected our API based on three criteria: reputation in the API industry, recent media coverage, and innovativeness of our API initiatives. Read this blog post for more information.

DocuSign wins DeveloperWeek Devies API Award

DocuSign was the winner of the DeveloperWeek Devies Awards in the API Services category. We were in good company with other winners, including Microsoft, IBM, and Red Hat.

Alameda County Wins Award for Using DocuSign

Alameda County, CA won a National Association of Counties (NACo) award in the Administration and Management category for its Online Filing of Assessment Appeals program, which uses the DocuSign eSignature API. Read more about the award here. We are proud of Alameda County and their innovative use of the DocuSign eSignature API. You can also read their API Case Study that outlines the many use-cases they’ve implemented with the API.

API Case Studies

At DocuSign, with more than 300,000 customers, we have many business case studies documented. We’ve started documenting API case studies to serve our developer community. The API case studies focus on the technologies and approaches our customers use to implement our APIs.
