This position
We are looking for a Front-End Software Engineer to join the Digital Marketing Experiences engineering team and help scale and build the next generation of DocuSign’s marketing and commerce experiences. You will be responsible for day-to-day UI engineering execution as well as long-term architectural, infrastructure, and technology choices for the design system components and user interface applications on You have mastered HTML/CSS/JavaScript and are mindful of its intricacies across different browsers and devices. You also have a solid grasp of TypeScript, ReactJS, NodeJS, and GraphQL. Your approach to building for the web is focused on standards, performance, and accessibility. You know the limitations of the web and care deeply about pushing the boundaries of what is possible with progressive enhancement.

This position is an individual contributor role reporting to the Sr. UI Engineering Manager and is designated Flex.


  • Maintain high coding standards with the ability to write clean, reusable, maintainable, secure and documented code
  • Build TypeScript and JavaScript client code using modern web frameworks and technologies (React + Redux, CSS-in-JS)
  • Work with UX and Design to standardize and simplify UI development practices
  • Build modular/reusable UI components from design mock-ups (Figma)
  • Build and maintain a modern Jamstack front-end web application infrastructure (Next.js, Netlify)
  • Participate in the entire development life cycle, from concept to release
  • Support strategic code sharing and architecture for one or more functional areas
  • Ensure design and architecture is extensible across multiple projects, and participate in technical design and code reviews
  • Define, scope, prioritize, and estimate work
  • Work across organizational boundaries with designers and program managers
  • Mentor, coach, and level up junior developers
  • Work closely with QA to identify test cases and create efficient, scalable testing processes
  • Work cooperatively with product management and design to create features that are scalable and secure. Identify, propose, and implement process improvements to continuously increase the team's productivity and efficiency
  • Stay current with the latest development best practices, technologies, and share your findings with the team
  • Work as part of a cross-site development team to drive design, implementation, testing, and release of products
  • Raise issues proactively that might impact delivery commitments
  • Identify and implement accessibility (WCAG 2.1 AA) and progressive enhancement best practices
  • Research new features and technologies
  • Fix production issues and maintain the code as needed

Basic qualifications

  • 5+ years agile software development experience with web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
  • 3+ years of experience with modern web application technologies (TypeScript, ES6, React/Angular/VueJS)

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience building design and UI component libraries and using tools like Storybook
  • Good with CSS-in-JS (Emotion/Styled Components)
  • Good with web accessibility standards and practices
  • Experience with testing frameworks (Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress)
  • Excellent developing, promoting and building consensus across engineering teams
  • Good working with UX designer specifications and design tokens (Figma)
  • Good understanding of web application design principles such as usability/accessibility, performance, responsive web design, and security
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with frequent production releases
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Based on Colorado law, the following details are for Colorado individuals only: Colorado base salary range: $106,500 - $130,200 and eligible for bonus, equity and benefits.
