We Are DocuSign: Kelli Feeley

Q: What do you do at DocuSign?

I head up our quarterly product launches and work with a stellar cross-functional team to help promote and bring to market new features and functionalities to not only our internal teams but to external audiences as well.

I also work on the signing experience, specifically ensuring customers understand the benefits of our new signing experience and easing the transition over so customers leverage the new feature set to their fullest advantage.

Q: What do your friends and family think you do?

They know I do Product Marketing for a tech company that’s been taking off over the past years. It’s kinda funny — when I first started working for DocuSign a little over two years ago, my friends would be like, “Where do you work? Oh I’ve never heard of it.”  Now, when I say where I work, everyone is like, “Oh, my gosh. I love DocuSign. I used it to sign the lease for my apartment!”

I’ve really seen the evolution of DocuSign and how it makes customers so happy. They’re excited to use our product.

Q: What is the best thing about working at DocuSign?

The people. I can wholeheartedly say, on day one and onward, they’ll support and help you no matter the occasion. Also, day in and day out, I am constantly impressed with how sharp everyone is. It makes me want to push myself even more to greater lengths.

DocuSign is a great place to set you up for success when starting out your career. That’s a tough transition time, in my opinion. So, to be in an atmosphere that is supportive and helps you develop your professional skills can be very pivotal.

Q: How is that team different than other teams at DocuSign? Is there anything special about your team’s dynamic?

What’s unique about our team? We have fluid communication. We’re not only coworkers and colleagues — we’re friends. For me, that’s important in the workplace. I want to be in an enjoyable atmosphere where I’m challenged yet supported. Plus —  they’re just fun. You can be yourself and be comfortable on this team.

Q: What is the best advice you can give to somebody starting a new job in your department at DocuSign?

My advice would be to dive in and get to know the people. Building relationships and rapport is extremely important. Build those relationships within your team and outside your team as well. Product marketing is very central to the company. We work with numerous cross-functional teams. So having strong and meaningful relationships with people helps us get a common goal over the finish line more efficiently and effectively.

Q: What traits do you most admire in your colleagues at DocuSign?

I admire that everyone pushes the envelope each day. We are all moving towards the same mission to make it easier than ever to make every decision, approval, or transaction fully digital.  We want to be with you to buy your first house, send your kid to college, or take a trip of a lifetime.

Q: What traits do you think your DocuSign colleagues most admire in you?

My enthusiasm and friendliness. I try to keep a positive attitude in any situation, as well as meet new people every day if I can. It doesn’t matter if you’re in marketing, IT, sales, engineering, etc. — I have no problem going up to anyone and striking up a conversation. I definitely make it a point to be my genuine self and I think that puts people at ease.

Q: What is something most of your colleagues at DocuSign don’t know about you?

I was the star of a children’s workout video when I was in kindergarten.

Q: What is your favorite snack from the DocuSign kitchen?

The fruit. From peaches to strawberries to grapefruits, I’m getting my Vitamin C fix. Oh and every time we have Twixes in stock? That’s where you’ll find me.

Q: Where is your favorite place to work or have a meeting at DocuSign and why?

During the nicer weather, I love working on the fourth floor patio in the building. But any other day, I like working in any area with natural light and a Bay water view.

Q: What is the best project you ever worked on at DocuSign and why?

It’s more of a recurring project, but leading the product launches. I love that I work with so many different teams. I’ve even heard the feedback from the launch team that it’s one of the only situations where they’re working with six other teams towards one common goal: to release product. I love garnering that team effort to make each release a reality.

Q: If you were not working at DocuSign and could do anything in the world, what would you be doing/do next?

I played tennis in college for the University of Washington — and tennis has been an incremental part of my life since I was seven years old. So, something that is on my bucket list is to attend all four grand slam tournaments. One is in New York. One’s in Paris. One’s in  London. And one is in Australia. I’d love to hit all four of those in a year.

Q: What is the secret for you to happiness?

Being active and at the beach. Baking and cooking new recipes. Laughing until my cheeks hurt with friends & family. And above all, eating a lot (of pizza).
