Q: What do you do at DocuSign?

I raise awareness about DocuSign as a great place to work and convince people that they should work at DocuSign. I review all the communications and touch points in the employee lifecycle to ensure that the experience is aligned with our values and ensure employees have access to the information they need to do their job and be as productive as they can be. This is not always an easy task in such a fast-growing company, and we are creating new forums and communication channels all the time.

Q: What do your friends and family think you do?

I am back in tech, have a shorter commute, work at a cool company with people I like and am happy.

Q: What is the best thing about working at DocuSign?

The people, their passion, and the company’s mission. The technology is cool in that it can help my parents and the largest global bank. And, there is a network effect because there is a sender and signer(s), and that makes it viral. It’s like bidding and buying on eBay where I worked previously.  You get that “wow” moment like when you win an auction – that moment of “it’s signed and complete”. It’s oddly gratifying.

Q: What is the best advice you can give to somebody starting a new job at DocuSign?

Use the product. Try all the features you can – bulk send, two-factor identification. Join the Product & Technical Questions Chatter board. The back and forth between Sales and Product is pretty enlightening. Learn, dig in, learn some more, ask questions, raise the tough issues. Got an idea about how to improve something? Post it on Need More Cowbell. See something, say something. Act like an owner because you are.

Q: What traits do you most admire in your colleagues at DocuSign?

Their brainpower, experience, creativity, openness, humanity, humor, tenacity, integrity and stamina. It’s an impressive group of folks from the receptionist to the CEO.

Q: What traits do you think your DocuSign colleagues most admire in you?

My odd and very quick recall of random, fascinating (apparently to me) facts. My Israeli friend calls them “Ann-isms”.

Q: What is something most of your colleagues at DocuSign don’t know about you?

I can say “Good evening, one chicken, please” in about 20 languages.

Q: What is your favorite snack from the DocuSign kitchen?

The garlic plantain chips bar none. They were the Snack of the Month in June, and I’ve been in mourning ever since.

Q: Where is your favorite place to work or have a meeting at DocuSign and why?

The microkitchen on the 8th floor. I love the light, the view of the Bay Bridge and the cheerful colors.

Q: What is the best project you’ve ever worked on at DocuSign and why?

Interviewing 60+ employees across the world about why they joined DocuSign and why they like working at the company in order to find out what they thought defined our culture and what was important to retain because we are growing so fast. It’s a special place, and we needed to really know what made DocuSign tick at every level of this company, in every corner. When we played back our findings to the Exec Staff, they said: that’s it. Personally, it was also a blast to get to know so many people and learn about what they do and what motivates them.

Q: If you were not working at DocuSign and could do anything in the world, what would you be doing/do next?

I’d want to be doing something meaningful that has a positive impact on my community or the world with people I genuinely like and respect. That’s the bar. And, I’ve got that at DocuSign.

Q: What is the secret for you to happiness?

Health, good friends, laughter and knowing where I’m going on my next vacation.
