Knowledge Market - Become a NIGO Ninja Part II

As we learned in Part I of this blog/whitepaper series, “NIGO” errors – or “not-in-good-order” – can creep into a workflow in the Prepare phase of an agreement in places ranging from incorrect data entry or incomplete fields to misinterpreting form requirements.

Docusign’s System of Agreement platform enables organizations to create digital workflows that accelerate how agreements are prepared, signed, enacted, and managed. Our platform means greater efficiency for your business, and an improved experience for your customers. However, reducing NIGO is still critical to getting a user through the Sign phase.

The combination of providing effective tooltips and limiting what the signer can enter in a text field are key to reducing errors. Of course, it’s unlikely that a document would have only one field – and the relationship between one field and another can depend on what the signer enters.

In Part II of our series, you can learn how DocuSign can leverage conditional logic to guide the signer to ensure that all forms are correctly interpreted – increasing an organization’s successful transaction completion rate.

In a nutshell, conditional logic is the metaphorical fork in the road of a signer’s journey to envelope completion. The sender can direct the signer to take appropriate action depending on what is selected. Leveraged correctly, only relevant fields are presented to the signer. This helps avoid misunderstanding or ambiguity about what is being asked for by the sender.

Out of the box, DocuSign uses radio buttons, checkboxes, dropdowns, and even text fields to control signing flow. This paper provides details on what to look for when deploying each conditional option, as well as implementation examples.
