Free The Children founder Craig Keilburger’s belief in the power of youth inspired a revolution to empower children who struggle in the shackles of economic and political strife and violence.

In early 2013, Free The Children adopted DocuSign to combat operational costs. By transitioning to DocuSign’s digital workflow model, their lowered administrative costs allow 90 cents of every dollar to directly support projects.

For MOMENTUM 2014, we proudly welcome a keynote from Roxanne Joyal, the innovative Co-CEO behind the social enterprise Me to We and founding member of Free The Children. She will breakdown how DocuSign helps slash operational costs with full digital integration that digs an even deeper fund for their projects.

DocuSign’s integration into Free The Children’s operations also benefits the overwhelming flood of volunteer paperwork. Every year, countless youth volunteers nationwide passionately support Free The Children’s campaigns and flock to volunteer events, such as the WE days.

However, while youth volunteers are dedicated to eradicating the risk facing millions of vulnerable children, Free The Children unfortunately grapples with managing the risk of underage volunteers.

Imagine this scenario: an unregistered 15-year-old student shows up to a volunteer event without a waiver form. Should they be turned away for one missing piece of paper?

The scenario became reality for WE Day 2013 when Stuart Gold, DocuSign’s Vice President of Field, Customer, and Partner Marketing, witnessed a throng of unregistered underage volunteers partaking in the event. As Free The Children does not deserve the liability tied to such risk, Gold worked with them to build a simple waiver form through DocuSign.

Unique to other waiver forms, DocuSign’s PowerForm grants a reprieve to hopeful underage volunteers without parental permission. Through DocuSign, a volunteer can instantly e-mail their parent the waiver form that can be eSigned and returned no matter if the parent is at home, work, or on their mobile device.

Youth volunteers ensure events, such as WE Day, are as impactful to the global community. With DocuSign’s PowerForms, Free The Children can welcome any volunteer whose enthusiasm and drive echo that of Craig Keilburger.

Now imagine this scenario: a new generation of bold global visionaries virtually free to stamp their mark.
