Our employees team up to make a DocuSign IMPACT at the 2018 Special Olympics USA Games

DocuSign IMPACT’s mission is designed to support nonprofits around the globe, while in turn bringing DocuSign employees together and fostering camaraderie in support of the causes they care about most.
We believe that everyone should have the opportunity to perform up to their potential and to exceed even their own expectations about what’s possible. That’s why we have supported the Special Olympics and its work to create an inclusive society since 2014.
Through our longstanding partnership with the nonprofit, we’ve helped ensure any athlete who wants to compete, can, via our Digital Transaction Management platform and eSignature solution. By making the switch from paper-based processes to digital, the Special Olympics has empowered athletes, guardians, coaches and doctors to electronically sign required documents like medical releases, and participation forms, anytime, anywhere, on any device, securely.
This July, we’re gearing up to make an impact at the Summer Games by rallying employees together to help support Special Olympics athletes. Over 100 DocuSign employees will volunteer at the Special Olympics Summer Games on July 1 through our DocuSign IMPACT program.

We think the Special Olympics embodies that spirit as well as any group, and this is why we are thrilled to participate in all of their activities, including the 2018 USA Games,” said DocuSign CEO, Dan Springer.

Today, Loren Alhadeff, DocuSign SVP of North American sales, held a fireside chat with Dave Lenox, president & CEO of the Special Olympics Washington, and Tate Goff, Special Olympics athlete and daughter of Dale Goff, DocuSign director of partner strategy and programs.
During the chat, they discussed the objectives, history, and achievements of the of the Special Olympics -- from athlete leadership to unity, bravery, and perseverance. “We put the athletes in a race where they’re with people of the same age, gender, and ability level,” said Lenox. “When they’re at the starting line they know they have a chance of winning that race -- if they just push as hard as they can. That’s when we [The Special Olympics] go from being nice to being important. And when the athletes are important, we’re all important. And that makes us a better community.”
Tate competed on the Bainbridge Island gymnastics team all four years of high school, and has also competed in several Special Olympic meets to prepare for the USA games, and qualified for the state competition. In November 2017, she won gold in the All Around competition for Washington state.

Our Opening Games volunteers include DocuSign CEO, Dan Springer and Loren Alhadeff, who are competing in the ESPN Unified Sports Challenge. Together, they will compete in partnership with Special Olympics athletes, celebrities, and executives from the Walt Disney Company, Coca-Cola, Microsoft and more to help raise awareness for the Special Olympics.
From hot shot basketball to penalty shot soccer to golf putting and more, there will be eight challenges in total. DocuSign employees will be supporting the operations for basketball and powerlifting, including score keeping, crowd control, and food and beverage support.
Finally, in addition to leveraging our people and our product to help support the Special Olympics’ mission, we also harness the power of our profits. At the upcoming Summer Games, a donation made by DocuSign CEO Dan Springer will be matched by the DocuSign IMPACT Foundation. We also recently donated over $1 million in products and services to Special Olympics International that will be leveraged by its country-based org’s around the globe.
