Dreamforce 2018: Day 1 Recap

It’s finally here! Dreamforce 2018 kicked off today at the Moscone Center in San Francisco. DocuSign is thrilled to be the first ever Double Platinum sponsor, with perhaps the biggest booth Dreamforce has ever seen. We’re in the Customer Success Expo all week, where DocuSign is side-by-side with SpringCM. We’re also proudly on the Trailhead and in the Developer Forest with our DocuSign API team, as we are after all a developer-first company.

Here’s a quick look back on what happened today.

Meet Gen

We kicked off the week by announcing the newest installment in our product offering, Gen. Gen automatically prepares documents for you, whenever you need them and however you want them. It’s part of a modern System of Agreement and possible thanks to our very recent acquisition of SpringCM. If you’re at Dreamforce this week, you must stop by booth 1218 in the Customer Success Expo get the full scoop.

Booth Activity

Throughout the day we were taking booth visitors through the modern System of Agreement and its four stages: Prepare, Sign, Act, and Manage. Salesforce even stopped by to interview DocuSign CEO Dan Springer as well as Dan Dal Degan, Senior VP of CLM Sales, DocuSign. And of course, Appy made an appearance.

On the Trailhead, our developer booth was busy giving demos on DocuSign for Salesforce. Additionally, visitors to Booth #1 were able to take developer and/or admin courses, chat with our dedicated DocuSign for Salesforce engineers, and lastly have a shot and taking a home a pretty sweet prize. Today, we gave away a 360 Fly 4K Video Camera. Check out the winner here. But don’t fear, we’re giving away great stuff all week long, so be sure to stop by!

Sessions

This week, Dreamforce is featuring a whopping 2,700 sessions, and we’re thrilled to say that we’re hosting over 20 of them. Today we held a panel discussion led by DocuSign CMO Scott Olrich. On the panel were representatives of Thomas Reuters, Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, and Global Payments, all of whom discussed how their organizations have adopted the modern System of Agreement provided by DocuSign and SpringCM. From the Trailhead, we hosted a theater session on getting started with DocuSign for Salesforce, which we’re proud to say was met with a filled-to-capacity audience. So much more was on the docket, and tomorrow calls for the same.

Keynote

A lot of truly engaging things were brought up today during the Dreamforce 2018 keynote, headlined by Marc Benioff. To begin with, we learned that this is without question the biggest Dreamforce ever. Over 170,000 individuals are physically in attendance this year, with another 10 million tuning in online and all around the world. There are over 2,700 sessions, and attendees spanning the globe. This year, the four days are each focusing on one specific area.

  • Day 1: Trust
  • Day 2: Innovation & AI
  • Day 3: Equality & Sustainability
  • Day 4: Personal Empowerment & Mindfulness

As Salesforce reminds us, we are truly in the middle of the fourth Industrial Revolution, where everything and everyone is connected. We’re excited to see what the next 20 years of Salesforce innovation and partnership looks like.
