Q: What do you do at DocuSign?

I’m on the Revenue Operations team. I support enterprise sales with quote approval, deal structure, and order form creation all while enforcing our revenue operations guidelines. Our goal with every deal is ensure DocuSign collects as much cash upfront while avoiding any revenue recognition concerns.

Q: What do your friends and family think you do?

My friends and family think I DocuSign contracts all day. I do! They know and use DocuSign and they love that I work here.

Q: What is the best thing about working at DocuSign?

The people. They’re so easy to work with, and I enjoy working with everyone. We’re a diverse group of individuals, and we legitimately enjoy working with one another. Our team works especially hard at the end of quarters to make sure all orders are signed and closed without issues. Sometimes we may even be in the office on weekends. I think we enjoy the time we spend together. We better!

Q: How is that team different than other teams at DocuSign? Is there anything special about your team’s dynamic?

Our team dynamic is different because we are a pretty diverse group. I believe our diversity is what makes the Rev Ops team so awesome!

Q: What is the best advice you can give to somebody starting a new job in your department at DocuSign?

Be assertive. Have confidence. Speak up. Communicate. DocuSign is company that values everyone’s opinions.

Q: What traits do you most admire in your colleagues at DocuSign?

Their passion for what they do. Their intelligence. In our role, we’re constantly enforcing rules. My colleagues are highly resourceful and constant problem solvers.

Q: What traits do you think your DocuSign colleagues most admire in you?

What I think my colleagues admire most about me? That I am awesome!

Q: What is something most of your colleagues at DocuSign don’t know about you?

I’m a drummer in a blues band called “The Next of Kin.”  I’ve known the band members since my freshman year in college, and we’ve been playing together off and on ever since. We have concerts all over the Bay Area, and I try to invite as many of my DocuSign colleagues out to see us.

Q: What is your favorite snack from the DocuSign kitchen?

I’d probably say the pistachios.

Q: Where is your favorite place to work or have a meeting at DocuSign and why?

My desk is pretty cool because I have a sweet view of Treasure Island and the Bay Bridge.

Q: If you were not working at DocuSign and could do anything in the world, what would you be doing/do next?

I’d dedicate more time to address the social inequalities in our country. No matter where you live in the country, there are so many issues we face today, that it can sometimes become overwhelming to think about. This is very frustrating especially to the African American/Black communities. There’s an internal drive that wants to figure out what I can do to make a difference — to focus on how I can become more involved to make a positive impact and bring change. What I have done so far is co-founded an ERG for African American and Black employees here at DocuSign. The group focuses on promoting diversity and cultural awareness. It’s also a place for support and to provide an outlet to discuss the issues we face.

Q: What is the secret for you to happiness?

Family. If you know what makes you truly happy, then find the time to do it. For me, it’s spending time with my wife and daughter. Playing music. Riding my motorcycle into the office or weekend rides. If you know what makes you happy, even if it’s small, find time to do it.

Our “We Are DocuSign,” blog series places the spotlight on employees from a variety of departments and provides a peek into what it’s like to work at DocuSign. This week, we sat down with Paul G.A. , Rev Ops Contract Specialist, to chat about his day-to-day work, what he admires about his colleagues, and something none of his coworkers know about him.
