This past week, the DocuSign team had the opportunity to attend and participate in what was an eventful Google I/O Conference.
Aside from the slew of new and exciting product announcements, the three-day event is also an opportunity to get together with Google engineers and other app developers, and to preview what’s to come.
One of the most memorable moments from the conference was being able to participate in the “Your Apps at Work” I/O session as one of the key partners in Google’s foray into enterprise. As a Google for Work partner, DocuSign is accessible to Google for Work enterprise users from Drive and Gmail. This means the ability to sign, send, and manage documents efficiently is available to anyone in a company or organization’s Google Apps for Work domain.
DocuSign is now enabled for the “Android for Work” marketplace, which allows IT administrators from large organizations to deploy and manage separate business profiles for employee mobile apps.,
Companies can separate DocuSign profiles for company use from the employees’ personal accounts (i.e. one profile to sign and manage documents on behalf of the company like sales agreements and contracts and another for personal documents like HR forms and offer letters).
Aside from this, one of the more exciting announcements for app developers was the release of Firebase, specifically Firebase Analytics (a tool within Firebase). Acquired by Google a little over 18 months ago, Firebase is a BaaS (backend-as-a-service) that handles the heavy lifting of building a mobile app. However, it was reintroduced this past week as a unified app platform for both Android, iOS, and mobile web that addresses developer needs in development, user acquisition and monetization. Best of all, Firebase is incredibly easy for developers to integrate and free for unlimited use.
You may have seen some other exciting consumer announcements including Google Home, Allo/Duo, and Daydream but for us here at DocuSign, we’re most excited about the tools to help you run and grow your business.
