DocuSign at Lesbians Who Tech Summit

By Amy Skeeters-Behrens, Executive Director, DocuSign IMPACT, and Head of Diversity & Inclusion

At DocuSign we believe that an open and inclusive culture, which allows everyone to be their authentic selves every day, strengthens communities and brings people together. Through our DocuPride employee resource group, we promote policies, opportunities, and activities to increase LGBTQ diversity and equality at DocuSign and beyond.

As part of this commitment, DocuSign is a proud sponsor of the 5th Annual Lesbians Who Tech + Allies Summit, and 14 DocuSigners will be attending the conference.   Lesbians Who Tech is an organization founded in 2014 that has built a worldwide network of lesbian colleagues, associates, and friends in the tech industry.

Held from March 1-3 in the Castro District in San Francisco, the Lesbians Who Tech Summit will bring together over 5,000 lesbians, queer women + allies across all areas of technology. Speakers include Re/Code's Kara Swisher, Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg, Former White House CTO and Google exec Megan Smith, and Uber's Bozoma Saint John. DocuSign’s very own Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), Vanessa Pegueros, will also be a speaker at the event.  To view a full list of speakers, click here.

Laurie Roderick, a data scientist at DocuSign, has organized colleagues for a DocuSign presence at the event this year. “The event serves as a reminder of how important it is to have a job where you are valued for being your authentic self and where you can foster your passion for technology,” says Roderick. “The companies that support the event – like DocuSign – put themselves front and center at the event to talk to you about who YOU are and how they can be that environment. At Lesbians Who Tech, the message is clear: provide the avenue to change the message and share content that likely hasn’t been shared before. This allows us to think about our roles, our careers, and how we do business at large in a more directed, effective way.”

DocuSign Senior Program Manager, Helen Sterling, will also be participating at the summit: “With 5,000 lesbians, queer women and allies expected to attend this year’s Lesbians Who Tech conference, it’s bound to be an action-packed celebration of diversity and inclusion as well as a potent networking, learning, and recruiting opportunity.  I’m proud of DocuSign for sponsoring such an important event, and I look forward to representing our queer contingent,” said Sterling.

The summit will kick off on March 1st with an opening address, tech crawl, and plenty of networking parties. Content sessions and more will begin the following morning, and continue on for the remainder of the summit.

The event will also include:

  • TED Style Talks
  • Ignite Talks
  • Speed Mentoring
  • Recruiting Zone Workshops
  • Tech Demos
  • Recruiting & Retention Sessions

As a proud sponsor, we’ll be present at the Recruitment Zone, alongside other top global tech companies, looking to recruit bright, diverse talent from the pool of tech leaders at the conference. Specifically, we will be at the Tech Crawl Thursday night, and the Recruitment Zone all day Friday to share why DocuSign is such a unique and rewarding place to work. In addition to being recently named one of Glassdoor’s “Best Places to Work in 2018”, we also make it a priority to share an inside look into what it’s like to work at DocuSign -- from employee and intern spotlights to a peek inside the day-to-day at the DocuSign San Francisco Headquarters. If you’re looking for an exciting, challenging, and fulfilling career in the tech industry, please come by the Recruitment Zone and introduce yourself!
