Q: What do you do at DocuSign?
I’m a software engineer on the development team. We are responsible for the digital signing process.
Q: What do your friends and family think you do?
They understand I work on “digital signature.”
Q: What is the best thing about working at DocuSign?
My favorite thing is the ability to work on a variety of projects and to enrich my knowledge in different areas. It’s fascinating to be exposed to new technologies and deal with new challenges on a regular basis. For example, being able to write different languages such as C++ and C#. New technology — writing in different layers, working with different clients, etc — all this helps me to deal with new patterns. Every mission I find myself learning something new. I never get bored in this role.
Q: How is that team different than other teams at DocuSign? Is there anything special about your team’s dynamic?
Our social dynamic here is unique. I really appreciate the solidarity of the group. Whenever I encounter a problem or need an extra opinion on something, we always help each other. We love to share our knowledge and contribute as much as we can.
Q: What is the best advice you can give to somebody starting a new job in your department at DocuSign?
I’d encourage them to come into the role with a lot of motivation and to embrace challenges. Ultimately, that is what is going to make the role satisfying and rewarding.
Q: What traits do you most admire in your colleagues at DocuSign?
I admire my colleagues’ intelligence and their ability to create a calm and peaceful work atmosphere. It is essential for me to work in a calm environment. Even under high pressure, my colleagues don’t let stress affect the quality of their work. Regardless of circumstance, they’re productive and deliver on time.
Q: What traits do you think your DocuSign colleagues most admire in you?
When I receive a task, I handle it methodically and take it seriously. I pay attention to every little detail and really invest my best efforts in order to achieve the best result possible.
Q: What is something most of your colleagues at DocuSign don’t know about you?
Well [laughs] I talk a lot so they probably know a lot. Maybe it’s the fact that I’m an American citizen? My father was born in the U.S.
Q: Where is your favorite place to work or have a meeting at DocuSign and why?
Definitely the conference room on the first floor. Or, for special occasions, the roof.
Q: If you were not working at DocuSign and could do anything in the world, what would you be doing/do next?
I’d be a fashion designer. I’ve loved fashion since I was a little girl. I’ve never done it professionally but I’ve created designs for my family on special occasions. For example, I’ve drawn out a sketch and had someone make it into an actual garment.
Q: What is the secret for you to happiness?
Surround yourself with friends and family — people who appreciate you and keep up the good energy. Try to be satisfied with your work. Know you are useful and can make a change.
