New technology automatically assigns exact
signature locations and signing workflow to speed completion
of contracts SEATTLE, WA (February 06, 2008) – DocuSign, the leading
Web-based electronic signature service, today announced the availability
of DocuSign Professional 2.0, continuing the company’s
leadership in delivering technology innovation, ease of use and
the business benefits of the electronic signature process. DocuSign Professional 2.0 includes Intelligent Document Recognition
(IDR), an exclusive technology that automatically recognizes
where electronic signatures and initials should be embedded within
business documents. Using DocuSign’s new IDR technology,
documents containing complex signing requirements and workflow
can be prepared in just a few clicks. The power of IDR to automatically
apply a pre-defined custom document workflow allows even complex,
multi-party contracts to be accurately prepared with precise
signature placement in a matter of seconds. Having this advanced
capability transforms contract and document workflow processes
by eliminating the time it takes to physically route, sign and
complete documents. DocuSign Professional 2.0 and IDR are significant advances from
DocuSign and for Amica Life Insurance. “During our initial
deployment we experienced significant advances in how quickly
and easily we could send business-critical documents out for
e-signature and completion by customers,” said Duncan Hannah,
Assistant Vice President, Amica Life Insurance. “This will
enable us to be more responsive and helpful to our customers
as well as more efficient as a company. DocuSign Professional
2.0 is intuitive and easy to use and IDR will enable us to use
it with more complex documents.” DocuSign Professional 2.0 and its unique IDR, DocuSign Templates
and workflow management features were engineered in response
to customers’ requests for automating the process of preparing
documents for signature. As Tom Gonser, Co-Founder and Vice President,
Product Strategy, at DocuSign explains: “We listened closely
to how our customers have used and benefited from DocuSign Professional.
It became clear to us that by enabling our software to read documents
and automatically apply the exact signature and initial locations
throughout the document, we would deliver significant advantages
in how quickly and accurately our customers could send and complete
e-signed transactions. We are delivering powerful solutions for
enterprises that transform contract and document workflows, make
our corporate customers much more efficient and help them grow
revenue faster.” In addition, DocuSign Professional 2.0 provides a powerful new
Bulk Sending feature that allows a contract to be sent to a list
of thousands of recipients from a database, automating the sending
process much in the same way mail merge works. However, Bulk
Sending goes beyond typical mail merge capabilities because the
contracts sent can be signed, routed and stored securely. With the release of DocuSign Professional 2.0, DocuSign continues
to deliver the innovation, ease of use and customer benefits
that have made the company the number one enterprise-class web-based
electronic signature service with more than seven million signature
events worldwide. DocuSign’s electronic signature service
has driven large, quantifiable impacts on profitability. Customer
sales contract close rates have tripled or more, cycle time to
sign and complete documents has decreased more than 95 percent,
and paper costs can be cut 90 percent or more. These large, positive
customer impacts on profitability have fueled DocuSign’s
dramatic growth in 2007 including a sales increase of more than
400 percent. About DocuSign
