Aloha Airlines Achieves Industry Worldwide
First:
Using DocuSign Electronic Signature Service for Flight Plans
SEATTLE, WA (September 25, 2007) – DocuSign, the leading
Web-based electronic signature service, today announced that
Aloha Airlines has become the first airline to use electronic
signatures as a core part of its flight operations.
Aloha Airlines’ pilots and dispatchers are using DocuSign to quickly and easily file and electronically sign mission-critical flight plans at the Honolulu-based carrier, which has been ranked No. 1 for on-time performance three times in the past year in Air Traffic Consumer Reports issued monthly by the U.S. Department of Transportation.
Using DocuSign, Aloha Airlines has transformed the company’s previously costly and cumbersome fax- and paper-based process into a system that is now completely electronic. Aloha Airlines’ pilots review, approve, electronically sign and submit flight plans using DocuSign, saving Aloha’s dispatchers valuable time, avoiding potential delays, and eliminating a costly paper process. Less paper also means there is a positive impact on the environment.
“We’re proud to be the first airline in the world
to make DocuSign a core part of how we do business,” said
Peter Clark, Aloha Airlines’ vice president of flight operations.
Beyond the operational impact of DocuSign, Aloha Airlines’ decision to choose DocuSign was based on the enterprise-class architecture that DocuSign has built and deployed. DocuSign’s electronic signature service is housed in one of the world’s most secure facilities, a SAS 70 Type II data center. Multiple levels of redundancy and security ensure maximum availability of DocuSign’s mission-critical application.
Using DocuSign’s secure enterprise-class eSignature service, Aloha Airlines receives a detailed, real-time audit record of each step of the transaction. Secure and fully encrypted, DocuSign helps Aloha Airlines to meet the Federal Aviation Administration’s rigorous standards for maintaining and archiving full, detailed records of any changes to flight plans.
“Aloha Airlines is another great example of how DocuSign’s eSignature technology accelerates the speed of business and drives a direct impact on a company’s bottom line,” said Matthew J. Schiltz, CEO and President of DocuSign. “By eliminating a very time-consuming and cumbersome paper process, we’re helping Aloha Airlines focus on its most important task — getting passengers to their destinations on time. We expect that DocuSign will soon become the standard across the airline industry.”
