DocuSign Web Services Offers Developers Powerful New Tools to Easily Integrate DocuSign Electronic Signature Services with Leading Cloud Applications

We're excited about the release of the DocuSign Connect Application Programming Interface (API) for the DocuSign electronic signature platform. The new Connect API is designed to increased interoperability with key cloud platforms like Force.com, Ruby and PHP, allowing developers to easily create and integrate native applications with the DocuSign electronic signature platform. DocuSign Connect API At-a-Glance
The new DocuSign Connect API offers significant advances in ease of use and interoperability with cloud applications that rely on XML over HTTPS rather than use WS-Security. Now developers on these cloud-based platforms can easily integrate all DocuSign services into their applications using native tools and procedures.

Other enhancements with the new DocuSign API update include:

• Simplified Authentication: Developing new applications or integrations to work with the DocuSign platform is now easier. DocuSign's new authentication will enable a broader set of developers to access DocuSign Web Services. Developers who use Apex Code, Ruby and PHP platforms that do not have built-in support for WS-Security standard, will find it easier to pass authentication information to DocuSign with their SOAP calls. DocuSign has added other authentication enhancements including the ability to securely share credentials with integrated applications.
• Collect and Protect Sensitive Information: The new Connect API makes it possible to collect sensitive information from one signer without revealing that information to another signer. Developers can quickly set the property on a data field to conceal the values such as credit card or Social Security numbers. Once the signer enters the values and advances to the next tab, the information is concealed. These concealed values are available through the download and API functions.
• Enhanced Management of PDFs: DocuSign has created a new API method to manage PDFs that carry DocuSign envelope information. This enables DocuSign to handle the PDF forms and forms metadata that organizations already have. Developers can use Connect API to manage DocuSign envelope recipient information, signing instructions and message aspects inside forms and forms management systems rather than through separate DocuSign templates.
