Drilling a bit Deeper into Email to Electronic Signature

Posted September 2, 2010

A personal favorite, must-have DocuSign function enables me to send an email attachment to create an envelope for electronic signature. Simply by emailing drafts@docusign.net I easily forward the attachment from the email associated with my DocuSign account to create a draft envelope. Once I get my email confirmation that my draft envelope has been created, I can click the link to log into my DocuSign console to access the draft envelope, which will be in my drafts folder in my console. Once we're inside that draft envelope, we can add additional documents for e-signature, add our recipients and add the Stick-eTabs® for the necessary electronic signature and initials. When Can I Use Email To Electronic Signature?

  • Need to quickly file expense reports? I take a photo of my receipts and email the photo to drafts@docusign.net from my iPhone 4 to create a draft envelope - no more scanning and uploading images to my computer
  • Got a document modification from a client via email? Just forward that attachment to drafts@docusign.net - no need to download and then upload to your DocuSign console!
  • Forms service doesn't allow you to save the documents to your desktop? Instead of emailing the forms to your client so that they can go through the hassle of print, sign, copy and fax, you can just email the documents directly to your DocuSign console with drafts@docusign.net

DocuSign's robust feature set makes it a must-have productivity tool as our society becomes increasingly mobile. As Lee H. Badman of Network Computing noted, cloud computing electronic signature tool, DocuSign, enables mobile professionals to have necessary access and visibility to mission critical business processes.

I am a committed user of DocuSign and have been for two years now. I believe that I have used it for every transaction and with the exception of a couple really "technologically challenged" clients it has been an overwhelming success. It is such a relief to not have to struggle to make out a 3rd generation fax.
