We're excited to announce a strategic alliance with salesforce.com to be the electronic signature services provider in the salesforce.com OEM2 program. This joint OEM agreement allows DocuSign to offer our e-signature services as a best practice for Salesforce CRM customers to close business transactions in the cloud.

As cloud computing is dramatically transforming business today, electronic signatures are further accelerating transactions conducted entirely in the cloud. By moving document signing into the cloud, businesses can gain real-time insight into the agreement signing process. Through the integration of DocuSign with Salesforce Chatter, businesses can collaborate and have real-time visibility into who has received, reviewed and signed a document. Kendall Collins, chief marketing officer of salesforce.com, provides his thoughts on closing deals in the cloud:

Our work with DocuSign is moving the last mile of business transactions, contract signatures, to Cloud 2. Bringing together Salesforce CRM and Salesforce Chatter with DocuSign's e-signature technology will deliver real-time collaboration around contract workflow processes, helping customers close deals entirely in the cloud.

As demonstrated last week at Cloudforce 2 in San Jose by salesforce.com's Marc Benioff and DocuSign's Tom Gonser, the DocuSign eSignature service offers Salesforce users the ability to leverage data locked within Salesforce CRM and is enabled with Chatter for real-time visibility and updates. Users can follow others and follow deals as the information is pushed in real-time. Whether it is a contract, acknowledgement or approval requiring one or more signatures, virtually everyone within an organization needs to get a document signed. When DocuSign electronic signature technology is fueled by information within Salesforce, users can extend the power of Salesforce beyond the reach of sales and support. Every employee can realize the benefits of Salesforce data by leveraging this knowledge across the entire organization during the DocuSign e-signing process, ensuring unparalleled efficiencies in workflows and cost efficiencies.

The salesforce.com community's response to DocuSign has been overwhelming with DocuSign being recognized as an AppExchange App of the Week and Best Partner Application Appy Award at Dreamforce '09 for the innovative use of Salesforce CRM. DocuSign has supported Salesforce marketing efforts by being a national sponsor of and participating in Cloudforce 2 events. Salesforce has selected DocuSign as the marquee partner for its new OEM2 Enterprise Distribution Agreement program— a joint sales go-to-market program empowering salesforce.com sales teams to arm their customers with DocuSign. With this joint go-to-market agreement, DocuSign is even more tightly coupled with the salesforce.com worldwide sales teams. salesforce.com sales teams can now offer a more complete solution to better serve its 72,500 customers and 2.1 million subscribers of companies of all sizes.

Steve King, president and CEO of DocuSign, shares his perspective on the alignment of DocuSign with Salesforce CRM:

The synergy of DocuSign and Salesforce creates a powerful, comprehensive and cohesive relationship that extends beyond product, customer and distribution,” said Steve King, president and CEO of DocuSign. “DocuSign is excited to align with the strength of the pioneer of cloud computing platforms. We look forward to collaborating with salesforce.com to further extend the power of DocuSign and Salesforce CRM in streamlining business processes, reducing costs and ensuring the continued success of our growing customer base.
