Posted May 7, 2010

Sometimes you might be asked to provide additional documents when you eSign through DocuSign. This video shows you how to attach requested documents and eSign a document sent you electronically from the DocuSign service.

To eSign and Attach a Requested Document

  • Open your Invitation to eSign email in the inbox of your email program.
  • Click the “Review” button
  • DocuSign service opens a secure window for you to review and accept the consumer disclosure statement and adopt your electronic signature.
  • Click the “Adopt” button to continue
  • Use the approval window to review your document electronically or print and review it
  • Click the “Start” button to start signing your document and review the attachment request note
  • The attachment request note provides you with description of and instructions about the requested attachment.
  • Review the instructions, note and click the “Signer Attachment” tab.

The “Submit Documents” window appears. You have the option to either provide the requested attachment by uploading it with your computer or by faxing it. The example in the video below shows you how to upload with your computer.

  • To upload your document, first select the “file upload” radio button.
  • Click the “Browse” button to navigate and select your document.
  • Click the “Submit” button. The DocuSign electronic signature service uploads your requested document and attaches it to your envelope.
  • You can view the attachment in the envelope.
  • Click the “Stay and Review” button if you want to review your attachment and signed document or click the “Complete Signing” button to send the document and the attachment to the requester.

That's it! You've now signed your document and included the requested attachment! For more information about signing documents sent through the DocuSign electronic signature service, take a look at these other eSignature how to tutorials.
