How-To Use Free Form Signing in DocuSign for Salesforce

While the familiar yellow stick-e-tabs indicate to where your signers should place their electronic signature, you may also send a document for e-signature without placing any stick-e-tabs. DocuSign's free form signing feature in DocuSign for Salesforce enables your recipients to eSign and return documents - quickly, easily and securely!

It's as easy as sending a Salesforce email! This video will show you how to send a document for signature using DocuSign for Salesforce using free form signing.
Sending Using Free Form Signing in DocuSign for Salesforce
- Simply click the “Send with DocuSign” button
- Tailor the email subject and message for your recipients
- Click the “Add Recipients” button to add a signer
- Find a lead, contact or user
- Click the “Select” button
- Set the routing order, type, role, access code and add a personal note if you choose.
- Add documents from the Documents tab from Attachments or upload a document
- Add reminders for your recipients to sign
- Add an expiration for your offer
- Click to send your documents for electronic signature
A confirmation message provides the details of your electronic signature request. Now, we'll see how your recipient will see and sign your document.
Signing Using Free Form Signing in DocuSign for Salesforce
Your recipient receives and email with your subject and message, requesting their e-Signature. He or she clicks review to begin signing.
- Agree to conduct business electronically and create an electronic signature to begin
- With free form signing, your recipients select signature, initials and data items from the click-and-drag template to the document
- Drag signatures, title, company and date to the signature block area, exactly where they should appear on the document
- Enter data and text fields to provide billing address, purchase order numbers and more
- When all your signatures and data have been placed, click the "Complete Signing" button
- To acknowledge your signatures on the document and return it to sender, click the "Complete Signing" button
Signers may download their document or create an account - it's that easy!
Use Salesforce to track status of your documents. View status of your documents for electronic signature in the DocuSign status list in your Opportunities record. Dashboards provide information on how many deals are going out, who is sending them and how quickly they get signed, helping you manage dealflow.
