On October 6th, DocuSign's Fall Release will be available. With several powerful new features, the latest innovation in electronic signature will allow our customers to do more than ever with DocuSign, handle new kinds of transactions and sign on even more devices. I am personally very excited to tell you about these new capabilities! Here goes...

Mobile Signing - “Designed for Mobile”

picture-90

Rather than just 'enable' our existing web signing experience to work on a handheld device, we thought we'd do one better. Because our customers said it was so important, we designed a completely new signing process that is DESIGNED for Mobile. This new signing process:

  • Uses smaller pages so they load faster
  • Works with a wide range of mobile browsers, not just the latest iPhone and Blackberry...

Unlike our competitors who have offerings really designed for a full size screen, but can be painfully accessed to sign, we did it right. Also, if you have a year-old phone, we've got you covered. Everyone else will tell you to buy a new phone!

Sign on Paper - allow signers to print, sign, and return to the envelope

While we don't want you to create paper, we understand that you may need hard copy documents. At least we can help you so you don'thave to MOVE it! If you need sign on paper, you can now elect to print out the documents, sign, and either upload or fax them back in. Perhaps you need a document notarized. Now you can handle that kind of transaction. Yes, this is the fax support we've discussed as an upcoming feature - it's now here!

Unlike our competitors who make you choose before you send, and then have no process for uploading, we've delivered a fully functioning process that works whatever way you want to.

Request documents - request signers provide additional documentation

Sometimes you need a signature AND you need some other documentation. With DocuSign's 'Signer Attachments', you can request your signer upload or fax in additional documentation to complete your transaction. Store everything securely in the same envelope, so it is easy to find. DocuSign is the only place you get electronic signature tools like this!

Advanced Correct - fix on the fly

picture-92

Have you ever sent something out only to realize it was not addressed correctly or the document was missing something? You've got that “stuck” feeling, huh? Not if you use DocuSign! Now you can correct your documents after they have been sent! What can you “fix on the fly”?

  • Missing a signature block
  • Recipients' name(s) spelled wrong

Of course you can't change history, but you can adjust anything that needs adjusting before a signer signs. This just plain saves you the hassle of having to resend your documents.

Ability to send for data only - request a recipient only fill in data

Some workflows do not require EVERYONE to sign! Sometimes internal processes require management to provide data about the transaction, and enter this into a form field that is invisible to some of the end signers. You've seen these forms that say 'for office use only'. Now you can do this with DocuSign!

Resizable Electronic Signatures

picture-89

Sounds funny, but people really do want you to sign 'inside the lines' on some documents. Now with DocuSign's signature resizer, you can make the signatures you collect from your signers small enough to fit in those tiny forms. This just keeps things neat and proper.

Envelope Meta-Data - Want to track your documents better?

Add 'envelope fields'. These fields allow you to create drop down lists or text boxes that your senders must fill in before they send. This information might be the 'sales region', the 'customer type', or 'customer account number'. All of this meta-data helps you sort and search on your stored agreements later. Cool stuff.

Finished Signing Destination

Sounds silly, I know, but once your signer has completed the signing process, where do you want to send them? In the past, they went towww.docusign.com. Now you can set this to anywhere you want. This is all part of making an excellent customer experience!

So this Fall Release is a big one! You now have access to even more capability than you did last week due to the power of SaaS. No matter what kind of business transaction you have in mind, “there is a DocSign for that!”

Cheers,

TG
