How does electronic signature and online contract execution help real estate agents? Dave Thorpe, DocuSign’s Business Development Director, recently attended the mid-year NAR Conference in Washington, D.C.
Dave poked his head into the Bloggers’ Lounge, and found out about some interesting lab sessions about bringing social media technologies into real estate:
“Using social media to promote your business & Social media in practice” – REALTOR® Presenters: Heather Elias and Daniel Rothamel
“Twitter: Increases your sphere of influence” – Todd Carpenter, NAR’s social media manager
Will You Be My Friend on Facebook? - Presenter David Shumaker with NAR’s Information Central.
Which were also livecast (livetweeted) at www.twitter.com/crtweet
Dave also checked out the Business Technology Forum, with presentations by:
- Todd Carpenter
- Bob Hale
- Richard Mendenhall
- James Kimmons
- Shannon Williams-King
The integration of technology in business offers many advantages. For example, integrating social media technologies enables REALTOR® s to connect with others, build relationships and take advantage of word of mouth marketing.
Integrating DocuSign into real estate also offers distinct advantages to enable real estate agents to save time and make more money. By using electronic signature and online contract execution services, agents also experience higher customer satisfaction. Homebuyers are already asking for DocuSign:
I’m planning to buy a place in the next couple of years, and I would definitely pick a realtor that uses DocuSign over one who insists on paper forms. – Nick Ward, Associate Engineer – BBN Technologies
Understanding how technologies, including social media, electronic signature and online contract execution technologies, impacts the real estate industry enables agents, brokers and others to realize substantial cost and time savings.
But having been through the hassle of trying to sign long legal contracts, I would have welcomed the chance to take this document-signing process online…When it comes time for me to buy a house down the road, I’ll be sure to ask my agent if he or she is using electronic signatures. If not, I might just look for another agent. – Sam Diaz, Senior Editor – ZDNet
