DocuSign Sightings: Making Real Estate Easier - DocuSign electronic signature helps simplify business
Dean Ouellette, one of DocuSign's customers, recently wrote on his blog:
He then expanded on why he decided to go with our electronic signature and online contract execution service.
After he had written a few dozen real estate contracts, he realized would be overwhelmed by paperwork in a few short years, given that the Arizona Real Estate Contract is 9 pages. Include the buyers advisory, home owners association addendum, as-is and more, then a real estate contract could easily become close to 30 pages. If he were writing five offers a week, he would print out roughly 150 pages a week that would need signatures or initials. That is 150 pages of paper, ink and 5 folders, all of which can add up quickly.
After printing out the contract and having his clients sign all the pages, he would then need to fax it back to himself or scan it, because many agents want to receive contracts via email. He was looking for a better way to handle this time intensive contract execution process.
He had heard about people going paperless, and really debated if he wanted to purchase a tablet pc just to have people sign contracts. So then he turned to Twitter to help find an answer. Some agents he respected, Jay Thompson and Nick Bastian, suggested he check out DocuSign. A few minutes later, An, DocuSign's social media marketer, reached out to him and offered some suggestions. That had him thinking DocuSign was the way to go.
He set up an account, but in a rush to do so he made a mistake and had technical issues. Within minutes, he received a call from @DocuSign and a tweet from @tgonser (Tom Gonser) helping him out. At the time, he didn't know that Tom was the founder of the company. This great service happened at 9pm on a Saturday night.
During the last two months, he has written roughly 30 contracts and used DocuSign for every one. DocuSign's electronic signature and online contract execution service saves money AND time. The speed at which he can get a contract done and signed saves him several hours a week.
DocuSign strives to cut operating costs and accelerate business as well as listen to our customers and provide information about electronic signature and electronic contract execution (ECE) via this blog, DocuSign forums, Twitter and other social media outlets including Scribd.
If you are a real estate agent I recommend you sign up immediately if you have not done so already.
