Vice President, Product Strategy

Tom is a founder of DocuSign and is responsible for strategic product management activities.

Tom is a seasoned technology executive who has built world-class companies and products, with proven experience in wireless data communications, web-based transaction management, and mortgage and banking technology. Prior to starting DocuSign, Tom was founder and CEO of NetUPDATE, a leading online transaction management system for the financial services industry. NetUPDATE handled millions of mortgage transactions yearly and developed a strong network including a strategic partnership with Fannie Mae. To accelerate growth, Tom lead the acquisition of three companies, including Byte Enterprises, one of the leading loan processing software vendors to the industry. NetUPDATE was recognized as one of the Pacific Northwest’s ‘Hot Companies’ in 2001, and was a finalist in Mortgage Technology Magazine’s Synergy Award in 2000.

Prior to NetUPDATE, Tom was Senior Vice President of Business Development at Point.com, the online commerce site for the wireless industry. At Point.com, he led large-scale portal relationships and developed strategic partnerships with companies such as AOL, C-NET, Ziff-Davis and many others, growing web traffic from a few thousand unique visits per month to over 700,000.

Prior to working with startup companies, Tom held senior management positions at AT&T Wireless Services and McCaw Cellular Wireless Data Division, where he developed the first national CDPD wireless data channel sales programs, and led strategic partnerships with industry leaders such as Oracle, IBM, Microsoft, Compaq and Toshiba. Earlier in his career, he spent six years with Apple Computer in business development, and held sales roles with the VAR and Education organizations.

Tom is a distinguished speaker and has spoken at numerous industry events over the years. He recently served as a keynote panelist on electronic signatures at the LOMA Technology Conference.

Tom earned a B.A. in Economics with an emphasis in Business Systems Analysis and Design from the University of Washington. He resides in Seattle, WA, home to DocuSign.
